Facebook: How to create Apps in order to obtain an App ID

 

You are wondering how to create Facebook Apps in order to get an App ID also known as API key?

For any Facebook Plugin or application like: Comments, Like box, Recommendation box, Activity Feed, you will need an App ID. This App ID is a particular number for each website/blog you own, for which you will want to use Facebook applications.


Here you will find the easiest way to obtain this App ID:
1. First of all you have to go to Facebook Apps;

2. Click “Create New App” in top-right side;

3. Choose a name for you App. It has to be available and also be aware to be characteristic to your website. Then press Continue.

4. Then fill the Contact Email, App Domains, and Site URL. For App Domains you have to have to write only the domain like this: domain.com. For example, If you are create an App for Blogger, you will write “blogspot.com”, or else you will receive an error message like:
“Error App Domains: http://domain.blogspot.com/ should not contain protocol information.”

5. After saving your form you will obtain a 15 digit-number, which will identify your website.
